How HiredLocalPros works

We are not Yelp. We are not Angi. We are not Thumbtack. We're an editorial directory: AI ranks pros by a public trust formula, you get matched with the best 1–2 for your issue, and we hand off direct contact info so you can talk to a real person without a chat-app sandbox in between.

For homeowners — finding a pro

01

Describe what you need

Type your problem in the chat box. "My pool is turning green." "Pool pump won't start." "Need weekly cleaning in Yorba Linda." Plain English. Or upload a photo of the issue. No forms, no required fields, no account.

02

AI ranks all 480 pros

Our trust score formula scores every pool pro across 5 dimensions: reputation, presence, credential, transparency, reliability. We narrow your matches by location, subcategory (cleaning vs repair vs equipment), and pro availability. You get 1–2 matches — not 5, not 10. The right ones.

03

Talk directly

We share the pro's phone and website. You call, they quote, you decide. We don't get in the middle. We don't share your contact info with 5 pros at once. We don't have a "messaging system" you have to log into. Just: here's the pro, here's their number, here's what we know about them.

For pros — getting on the list

01

Apply

Fill out the apply form on /for-pros/. We'll reach out within 2 business hours to verify your business and walk through the listing process.

02

Get verified

We verify your license (CSLB or equivalent), insurance, phone, and website. After verification, your business shows on the relevant city pages with a Verified badge. This is one-time.

03

Receive matched leads

When a consumer's issue matches your subcategory and location, we send you their request directly. You call them, you quote, you do the work. We invoice 10–15% only after the job closes. No upfront cost.

Read our public methodology

We publish the trust score formula, the dimension weights, the badge rules, and the 5 commercial rules in writing at /methodology/. That page is our public contract — pros cannot pay to rank higher, and that's rule N1.
